  5. The Latest Deals and Tips for the Romanian trains: Trains are still cheap and 95% on time in Romania, that's a fact. We're now going to list here 2 of the main deals for Romanian trains. First, you can buy a return ticket and you'll get a 10% discount. The ticket is valid for 20 days, so you don't have to figure out a return date. You may also stop once for each of the trips. Say you'd take a return ticket for Bucharest to Sighisoara. You can stop in Brasov on the way up, and on the way back you can stop in Ploiesti. All you need to do is buy a seat reservation before you take the train which will cost you exactly 2.5 lei (0.65 Euro).

  6. The 2nd main deal for the train is called the (closed) circuit ticket. You can buy this at any AGENTIA CFR in the city where you may find yourself. For up to 2000km in the 2nd classACCELERAT train, it will cost you 100 lei (some 30 euro). For up to the same 2000km, also 2nd class, but RAPID train, it will cost you up to 200 lei (60 euro). The ticket is valid for 2 months. You will need minimum 3 adjournments of 24 hours each. There are no maximum stopsEvery time you stop you go with the ticket to information booth (INFORMATII) to get a stamp that you are making a stop. Before you get back in the train, you will need to buy another seat reservation for 2.5 lei (0.65 euro). Before you get this ticket you might need to figure out which type of trains are on the circuit route you have chosen. Are there more accelerat trains or more rapid trains? We would advise you to get a rapid train circuit ticket. If you get the accelerat circuit ticket, every time you have to take a rapid train you will need to buy a seat reservation and a supplement, which will be fairly expensive. Here are some examples of circuit tickets: Bucharest - Suceava - Sighetu Marmatiei (Maramures) - Cluj - Brasov - Bucharest. These are the main cities you'll go through, but you may stop in Nasaud, Sighisoara, Sinaia and all the other places you'd like to see. The circuit ticket is only one way, so you are not allowed to back-track any part of the route you have chosen. It may look a little complicate, but it isn't at all, and it will save you a lot of money for your budget!!!
