         If you happen to pass through Campulung Moldovenesc (some 60km west of Suceava), allow yourself a visit to MUZEUL LEMNULUI. It costs only 3 lei per person, and it is a gorgeous museum of wood technique. You will see here a good range of wooden objects from spoons and shepherd clubs to sculptures and really old furniture. The other good museum in the same city is the MUSEUM OF SPOONS. You've read well, this family has made a real passion out of collecting spoons of all sizes and all designs. It seems that this private collection is unique in the world.  

          Coming from Maramures to Suceava, some 10km after you  crossed Pasul Prislop (1416m altitude) on direction to Carlibaba, you'll see a sign saying GREC STEFAN, MUZEUL RADACINILOR, Strada Preluca Tatarilor # 67. As strange as it might seem, it is a museum in one small room of a family's house. This guy has been collecting interesting tree stumps since 1979. And he's got now some really good pieces like "Dracula" or other shapes of birds, eagles and snakes. It is amazing that a forest worker could see so much art in no more than a tree stump.
